Klara Grahovac from Pula, an expert with almost thirty years of experience in tourism, is the winner of the prestigious award “Your Host of the Year – Local Host” for the Istrian County. She was presented with the award at a ceremony held as part of the Croatian Tourism Days in Dubrovnik, the most important tourism event in Croatia, which this year attracted more than 1,300 participants.
The Local Host label, created by the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in cooperation with the Croatian Family Accommodation Association, the Istrian Family Accommodation Association and the Institute for Tourism, is awarded to hosts whose offer provides guests with an authentic and quality stay experience with a personal approach, preservation of local tradition and a strong connection with the local community.
In a statement to the media, Grahovac emphasized that the recognition is particularly significant to her because the award is being presented for the first time, and through her work, she has been advocating for the importance of family accommodation as the foundation of Croatian tourism for years. She pointed out that the key to success is in personal contact with guests and in offering them not just a place to sleep, but an experience of home and tradition.
For Klara, the award is considered a confirmation of her many years of dedicated work in tourism, based on tradition and personal dedication to each guest, emphasizing the importance of authentic hospitality and a sustainable approach that includes local culture and Istrian identity.
